That part of Silver Creek near Picabo under the stewardship of The Nature Conservancy was purchased from funds donated by corporations, conservation groups, and individuals. This kept this productive stretch of the creek from falling into private hands and open to the public. Silver Creek is very popular with anglers, but solitude can be found in late autumn, when this photograph was taken.
